A Gift Better Than Chocolate – Love Bomb

We aren’t manipulating you… this drink is the bomb! Whether you love Valentine’s Day, or just love to hate it, it calls for a cocktail! And I have the perfect one. A sweet and boozy mix of yumminess just for the occasion. A gift better than chocolate…

The Love Bomb.

What comes to mind when you think of Valentine’s Day? For me, it’s chocolate and cherries!

That being said, I do not want my cocktail tasting like a box of chocolates. I will have those separate please.

This cocktail uses a mix of cherries, cherry juice, vodka, Luxardo, Frangelico, and cream to create a beautifully tasting, and looking, cocktail. The cherry and chocolate mixed with the nutty Frangelico, along with the creamy twist of half and half will have you swiping right for more.

To make this cocktail:

  • Run chocolate syrup around the inside of a martini glass.
  • Pop in a cherry in the bottom, then put some of the juice. I like Tillen Farms Baba Bing cherries, which you can get in your local grocery store.
  • Set aside to let the syrup drip down the inside of the glass.
  • In shaker filled half way with ice, put your vodka, any good quality brand will do. Next add Luxardo. This is an Italian cherry liqueur. If you haven’t tried it before, it could become a bar staple. It adds a complex layer to so many drinks. Frangelico adds the nutty layer of this drink, which complements the cherry and chocolate. As well as any cream of your choice. Don’t forget to add the secret ingredient, love!
  • Shake vigorously for several seconds.
  • Strain the mix into the glass previously set aside.

Make an extra for your amore or gal-entine. It’s a gift better that chocolate. Or make one just for yourself, and buy your own box of chocolates.
